In the Tbilisi Sports Palace, Switzerland and Ukraine met in the second semi-final of the Woman’s 17 EHF Championship. Serbia was waiting for the winner in the final, and Lithuania for the losers in the match for third place.
The teams could not score the goal for the whole 5 minutes. Then the Ukrainians scored two goals in a row. At the 12th minute, Switzerland equalized the score for the first time in the match – 3:3. Then it was 4: 4 but Ukraine concentrated and again went forward 7: 4. But at 25th minute a draw followed again – 8: 8. After there was 9:9. The first half ended 11:9 in favor of Switzerland.
After the break Swiss were ahead 15:12 but at 12th minute Ukraine managed to tie the score – 15:15. Then it was 16:16;18:18; 19:19; 20:20; 21:21. And at very last seconds of the game Switzerland won 22:21.
The best player among Swiss was a goalkeeper Soraya Schaller and the best player of team Ukraine was Diana Dmytryshyn (RB).
