Second win of Serbia
On the second day of the Women’s 17 EHF Championship, in Group A, Greece played against Serbia. In the first match Serbs beat Faroe Islands 30:26 and Greeks lost to Ukraine 18:19.
The match started at a high tempo. Teams defended well and Serbs managed to score first two goals at 3rd and 7th minutes. By the tenth minute, the score was 3:2 in favor of Serbia. At the 14th minute, Greece equalized the score – 4: 4, but with the help of goalkeeper Katharine Mitrovic, the Serbs did not break and brought the first half to victory – 10: 7.
The first 5 minutes of the second half passed without a goal. Then the Serbs began to dominate little by little and the Greeks could not score from the sixth to the nineteenth minute. In general, in the second half, they managed to score only 3 goals.
Finally the game ended 24:13, Serbia won.
The best player of Serbia team was Tamara Kocic (LW) and the best among Greek was a goalkeeper Soumela Koutsimani.
