Bulgaria lost the first game

On the second day of the Women’s 17 EHF Championship, Bulgaria entered the competition in group A. They played against Faroe Islands, which the day before had lost to Serbia 26:30.

The islanders took the lead from the first seconds of the match and were leading 13: 3 to the 15th minute. They leaded several times with a difference of 10 goals, however the first half ended 18:12.

After the break, the Faroe Islands did not lose the advantage, increased it and eventually won 37:20

The best player of Faroe Islands was named Elsa Egholm (RB) and the best among the Bulgarians was Simona Petrova (LB).

Elsa Egholm: The game was difficult, but we have a really well put together, hard working team and I think that is the main reason it was so easy for us to win todays match.

Pancheva Petia, Coach of Bulgaria: We didn’t play well in defence, there were many mistakes in attack. We’ll work harder and try to do better in the next match.
