Tense match
The second match of group A between Ukraine and Greece started nervously – at 7th minute the score was 2:0 in favor of Ukraine and at 14th minute it was still only 2:1. Both teams paid big attention to deffence.
Then Ukraine increased the gape – 5:1. Then the score was stuck at 9: 4 for 5 minutes but in the end the result of the first half was 11:5.
After the break the teams scored with more ease. In the middle of the second half the score was 18:12 i.e. both teams scored 7 goals each.
At 24th minute brave Greece reduced the difference to one goal – 18:17. Then it was 19:17 and the final result – 19:18.
From team Ukraine the best player was named Diana Dmytryshyn (RW) and from Greece Vaia Amvrosiadou (RB).
Liubov Fedorenko, Head Coach of Ukraine: We couldn’t manage to score enough goals, so that was a big flaw. Even though we had some problematic details while preparing for the game, we managed to create good moments from the very beginning.
Alexandros Tarinidis, Head coach of Greece: I think my team didn’t play well in the first half, so we tried to change the score in the second. Maybe if we played the way we did in the second half, throught the whole game, we could’ve won.
